English teachers

Michael

Hi everyone! My name is Michael and I was born and raised in Stittsville, a suburb of Ottawa in Canada. After teaching in high school and elementary schools in Ottawa I decided to try teaching English as a second language in Tokyo. That was in 1994 and I am still doing it. I have been lucky to be able to teach here with the excellent staff and teachers from various parts of the world.
Many of my students ask me what level is the most difficult to teach. I always reply that all levels are a joy to teach and it is my job to help develop the strengths and strengthen the weaknesses.
Our door is always open to you so please come to see us anytime.

Since I was a kid, I’ve been always wanted to be able to speak English.
I was born and raised in Shinjuku, so I spent my childhood at a multinational school. This might be connected to my interest in and motivation to learn English. I like making friends from all over the world.
If you are able to speak English you can make friends all over the world even though you are of different nationalities and even though you are living on opposite sides of the planet. We are going to be true friends.
Come to think of it, isn’t it crazy? And I think that learning another language can get people to see new points of view and admit differences. Let’s work on it together!
