2015 is now more than half finished. At the start of this year, many people make resolutions to do or not do something. Did you make any resolutions? Did you keep them or did they fall be the wayside? I made a few and forgot a few. I just started on one of my resolutions this week! It is never too late to start something new.
Last week the challenge I gave you was the differences between some words. Here they are:
1. SHADE and SHADOW
A shadow is an area or shape made by an object when it blocks light.
Shade is cover or shelter provided by some object that blocks the sun. This time of year we are all searching for shade!!
2. ASHAMED and EMBARRASSED
After you do something that is wrong and you feel badly about your action you feel ashamed.
When something happens by accident you feel embarrassed.
3. BEACH and SHORE
A beach is an area with sand or rocks by a body of water while a shore is the land along the edge of an ocean, sea, lake or river.
4. FANTASY and IMAGINATION
Imagination is the ability to form and make mental images of things that are not present or considered real. A fantasy is an imagined sequence of events that bring you to a world or place that helps you escape reality.
5. WORTHLESS and PRICELESS
If something is worthless it has no value and nobody wants it. A priceless object is beyond value and is desired by all. A price can not be set for it.
6. MIDDLE AGES and MIDDLE-AGED
The Middle-Ages is a historical period from the 5th to the 15th century. Being middle aged means that you are in your 40s.
Now you can try to use some of them!!
Today I would like to ask you about shapes. What are the following shapes and how many sides do they have?
NONAGON
TRIANGLE
PENTAGON
DODECAGON
SQUARE
OCTAGON
OVAL
DECAGON
Enjoy the hot weather! When it is hot people always dream of the cold. When it is cold, we always dream of the hot. Why not just enjoy today!?
